Why art and books?

Why not?

Reading and drawing were my first loves. I couldn’t get my hands on the next Nancy Drew fast enough, and the walls of my childhood room were filled with my doodles. Books and art helped me get through some pretty tough times and big emotions when I was young, and I hope to share the feelings of comfort and familiarity they provided with my own children, and yours.

I love hearing my children give me ideas on what the next coloring book should be. That’s how we end up with such fun and crazy ideas like “Creepy Cute Dolls” or “Dinos & Donuts”. I never know which direction they’re going to go. Bouncing my newest YA book idea off them is fun too, and I get the unbridled truth if it’s a boring idea or if it needs more volcanoes!
